Dedications
To the many friends and companions encountered on The Way: thank you. Their enquiring minds enabled our paths to cross, and sometimes bond. It was a privilege to share their thoughts and comments as we travelled in time.
To the Wise Owls, male and female sages, who between them helped guide the traveller through the web and mystification of illusion: my deep respect and gratitude.
To each of these tutors I offer a special tribute of appreciation for the many hours of time and dedication which they gave whilst, with joy, I was in pursuit of each of these art forms:
The late Stella Coe Orme (1901–1993), the most gracious lady of Ikebana and author of The Art of Japanese Flower Arrangement and Ikebana: A Practical and Philosophical Guide to Japanese Flower Arrangement.
Ursula Smilde-Hiatt, teacher of T’ai chi ch’uan and Chi kung and author of The Tiger’s Mouth.
