Reflections - A Journey of Discovery By Kingfisher Kingfisher

Continental Holiday

At the end of the day, as Sun slips away
Here touched by night’s velvet hand
No sound from the road, just the owl and the toad
As white mist creeps over the land

It is eerie and strange, bodies feel change
They shiver, caught in the chill of night air
Close by a child, soothed into sleep
All part of a mum’s loving care

Barbecue revellers take note of the time
Then reach for the bottles, to pour out more wine
Six at the table enjoying a meal
So far from home, it doesn’t seem real…
