Reflections - A Journey of Discovery By Kingfisher Kingfisher

Moods of the Sea

From the shore to the blue horizon,
As far as my eyes can see,
Stretch calm and tranquil waters,
A sea of harmony.
A home to seaweed, fish and boats,
Seabirds feeding, as they float.

On gentle swell, a salty smell,
To hold me in a rapturous spell.
No giant waves to pound the rocks and cliffs in anger.
Peace replaces fury, the storm of yesterday,
Those waves of ‘white horses’ are far, far away.

Above the green-blue surface,
The gulls are flying high,
Soaring on the thermals,
Perfection in the sky.
Sharp eyes and thoughts are riding,
On graceful gliding wings,
As ears succumb to mournful cries,
From a bird that never sings.
A lonesome call, with piercing range,
It echoes through a wind of change…
